Vertical Air Conditioner and Utilities
Can I live without an air conditioner? The answer will most probably be “NO”, well, with the global temperature rising, the heat and the humidity in the environment have risen and with it the demands for the air conditioners have been peaking up every season. The different varieties of air conditioners have flooded the markets and all the branded companies are coming regularly with new unconventional methods of different designs and styles of air conditioners. The manufacturers are regularly improving the efficiency, design and size of their air conditioners.
The buyers these days have different options and they can select as per their specific needs, space and budget. There are different designs available like window or windowless air conditioners, mini split, freestanding, vertical etc., are very popular.
BTU (British Thermal Unit) and EER (Energy Efficiency Ratio) ratings are essential when you buy an air conditioner. BTU signifies the total amount of heat which the AC can remove from a specified room whereas EER signifies the amount of energy used by the AC. So the BTU needs to be better and the EER Higher for the AC to be of best quality. These days AC's not only cool the place but also remove the dust and other small particulate matter present in the air. Modern day air conditioners are aiming high to improve the living standards.
This discussion is mainly about the vertical air conditioner and how better they can be used in the modern day society, both in homes and other places like offices, apartments, complexes, etc.
A vertical air conditioner has two types:
1. Home unit which work exactly like any wall-mounted air conditioner.
2. Industrial units which can be used in offices, apartments, and other multi-occupant spaces.
Vertical air conditioner for Home Use
We can use a vertical air conditioner in windows which are tall and where a horizontal unit does not fit. All the features of a vertical air conditioner are configured vertically.
These are also called as “casement” or “slider” air conditioners. All these terms mean the same and it describes an air conditioner unit which fits in a window of a residential building.
Whatever they are called as, vertical, casement, or sliding air conditioners the cost involved to install and operate them in comparison to central air conditioners, the latter is more expensive. Single rooms or small houses can be kept cool using a vertical air conditioner, and these are economical as well.
These can also be carried anywhere when needed. A vertical air conditioner can have corrugated panels which do fit at the top of the windows.
“Industrial” Vertical Air Conditioner
Many apartments, offices, complexes, retail venues and other public places have a vertical air conditioner installed for climate control.
These are more compact and thus provide contractors with more options for placement of the unit. Additionally, most of the vertical units fit through standard doorways, and are easier to transport. They also include removable compartment panels for easy servicing. |
